Woodcarving is my passion. I began carving in 1993. I carve every day. I turn on good music, get a cup of coffee, a bright light, a comfortable chair & the fun begins. Among the things I carve are: Santas, .golfers, and old men. I also make tall walking sticks, canes & cottonwood whimsy houses. (I am adding gnomes to live in their humble tree houses.) Muddy Wheel Pottery and More in James (Rural Sioux City), Iowa is a unique shop & has many artists original work for sale. Be sure and stop by and visit with Rachel. It will be a fun visit.

I started long arm quilting 4 years ago. On my Long Arm Quilter, I can re-size the quilt pattern to fit any area. I make jelly roll quilts. I also have an embroidery machine on which I make appliqué and embroidery blocks, dish towels, table clothes and framed art. I’ve also done “free motion” quilting. I have some of my own quilting designs. I can do: stippling, shell- shapes, flowers and a lot more.

I am a Sioux City native and have always been interested in the arts; I’m a fulltime music teacher & discovered my addiction to beading with a make-and-take project while on vacation. My love of photography started when I was given a digital camera as a gift.
